ARTIST STAMENT

What are the sounds of a tree growing? Or of a planet spinning? Can we hold these impressions of sound in our mind and give them color and form? Wood grain, the frozen marks of annual growth of the tree, is percussion. The setting sun, another marking of time, is also steady percussion. Every sound ever made exists out there as a wave in the universe waiting for a drum sensitive enough to hear it. - Susan Jennings
